Danny Alexander Rossi, 50, on August 3rd, following a courageous six-year battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband to Teresa Brosenitsch and loving father to Sofia, his whole world. Son of Alexander and Jean Rossi. Brother to Robert Rossi and his wife Nancy. Nephew to Kitty and Bob Jette, Snookie and Bob Wroblewski, Terry and Melanie Tebaldi, Linda and Kurt Wolf, and Alan and Amelia Tebaldi, and Cathy Tebaldi. Uncle to Nicole Harrod, Lyndsey and Ashley Gallagher, Glenn and Michael Brosenitsch, and Andy, Carolyn, and John Besong. Great Uncle to Ava and Aden Harrod. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by these family members and by numerous cousins and friends.
Dan enjoyed life to the fullest, especially good food and time with friends and family. He was an accomplished sky-diver, setting an unofficial world record for the largest freefall formation of blind skydivers, with his friend John Fleming. He was also an avid adventure traveler, trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest, summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, and hiking into Machu Picchu. In recent years, he took up carpentry and wood-working.
Dan lived and worked in New York, Cleveland, St. Louis, Seattle and Pittsburgh. The past 19 years were spent in Pittsburgh, where he worked for Transarc, IBM and Carnegie Mellon University. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, National Braille Press, or Family House. Memorial service & fellowship on Friday August 11 at 1:00 at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. 15220
