Connie (Antzas) DeFilippo

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, Connie passed from this life at the age of 95. Connie is survived by her sons, Tony (Lorraine), Jim (Darlene), and John (Colleen); her grandchildren, Michael (Marshall), Christopher (Natalie), David (Juri), Lynne (Bill), Tasia (Justin), Stephen, Shannon (Ian), Andrea (Ben), and her great-grandchildren, Andrew, Bennett, Luca, Guerin, Grace, Lucy, Josephine, Stella and Elena. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Stella Antzas; husband, Joe; sisters, Helen Zok and Sophia Caruso; brother, Pete Antzas; daughter, Debra; niece, Victoria (Caruso) Wallace; and second husband, Mike Stuart. She met Joe DeFilippo, the love of her life, on an elevator in the Pittsburgh Federal Building where she worked at the Naval Recruitment Center. After Joe died she married Mike Stuart and moved to Deerfield Beach in 1986. They enjoyed the Florida lifestyle and entertained many friends and family. She moved back to Pittsburgh in 2002 where she spent her remaining years. Her mother Stella (Yiaya) lived with Connie and made it to the age of 106. Yiaya was a role model on living with love. Connie modeled that love and passed a love of life to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, niece and nephews. Friends and neighbors will remember her as a fun loving woman, inviting and welcoming. Connie loved her family and hosted many celebrations at her homes in Pittsburgh and Florida. The more the merrier. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
