Known as "Clyn" to her friends, passed peacefully surrounded by her family at home on May 25, 2020. Beloved wife of 50 years to Anton Caito (deceased); loving mother to Eileen Engel (Edward) and "Grace Amorose (Joseph); devoted grandmother to Stephen and Matthew Engel, Caito Amorose (Devin Corboy) and Jason Amorose (Andrea); precious Gigi to Anton and Angeline Amorose. At seven years of age, she immigrated with her mother, Maria Nicola, from Guardiagrele Italy, to join her father, Vincenzo, and brothers, Frank and Arthur Capuzzi, in America. Her sister Orlandino, stayed in Italy. Clyn married the love of her life and helped him run the Gondola Café in Pittsburgh's West End. She attended Franco Beauty Academy and also worked at J.K. Miller Co. for 20 years. Clyn's passion was cooking and she enjoyed preparing large meals for her family. They were a delicious feast that included homemade pasta, her famous wedding soup, pizzelles, and biscottis, and were always highlighted with family stories. She had a beautiful untrained singing voice. Up until her passing, she continued to crochet intricately designed scarves, hats, afghans, and baby blankets as gifts, and donated crocheted prayer shawls to the sick. For her 100th birthday she received 303 cards. Clyn was a member of The Third Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She was a devoutly religious person and will forever be remembered for her love and generosity. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, family suggests mass cards or memorial contributions to St. Margaret of Scotland Church. Or take your family to lunch and enjoy wedding soup. Clyn would like that. (Of course it won't taste as good as hers!). Visitation Thursday 3-6 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220.
