Clare Ann Donehue

In Loving Memory of:  Clare Ann Donehue, age 86, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of the West End of Pittsburgh, who passed of natural causes on November 27, 2022.  Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Donehue, and daughter of the late Emma (Wolf) and Joseph Reiss.  Loving mother of Paul J. (Rieko), David C. (Teresa) and Marybeth; grandmother of Rachel, Ryan, Hannah, Kai and Sean.  One of nine siblings, Clare is survived by brother Edward Reiss (Mary Ann), sisters Betty Klemmer and Kate Herman, and many nieces and nephews.  Clare was a joyful person, who loved to socialize, laugh and sing.  She had an uncanny knack for human connection, and her children took great joy in hearing, from friends and acquaintances (often in the most unexpected circumstances), “I met your Mom, she is a hoot, what a wonderful lady!” Although Clare worked tirelessly throughout her life, both in and outside of the home, her true calling was that of being a mother. Clare lived for her family (immediate and extended), and particularly for her children and later her grandchildren. She had an exceptionally close relationship with her daughter, Marybeth, and their love was uncomplicated, unconditional and it brought them both immeasurable joy. Clare will be dearly remembered for her commitment to family, her faith (Catholic), her joyfulness and her ability to bring smiles to the faces of all those within her orbit. Friends are welcome Thursday, 2-4 and 6 until time of Blessing Service at 7:30 p.m., WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., 15220. Interment private.
