Age 92. On the wings of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, September 25, Claire Buczynski was gently carried from her devoted children at her side to the waiting arms of Our Lord and Savior. Claire successfully raised a large Polish Catholic family with a laborer's wage in a humble home. Yet under those eaves she spun gold. Our dear mother's legacy is the priceless treasure of faith and family. Claire was an active parishioner of St. Mary of the Mount and served as Eucharistic Minister. She is preceded in death by her steadfast husband of 59 years, Martin Buczynski, and her beloved son Edward. She is survived by her children James (Nancy Hayes), Michael (Lynn), Margaret LeMasters (Randy), Theresa Gallagher (Mike) and Gerry (Kara). Her grandchildren Kevin, David, John, Katelyn and Jason will forever remember her hugs, dancing gingerbread men and waxed Easter eggs. Her great-grandchildren, Lucy, Max and Dylan brought her even more happiness in her later years. Born July 25, 1930, Claire is the last of the Miskinis siblings of Esplen, preceded in death by Marian, Lillian, Eugene, Delores, Clem and infant sister Christina. She was a loving aunt to Terry Fedio, Robert Dudash, Vicki Gamble, Evelyn Maltempo, Richard, Rick, Cindy, Ted, Clem and more. Despite life's challenges, she lived a long, joyful life, reaping the blessings of her devotion and closeness to the Blessed Mother. We celebrate the power of her love and light that remain with us until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to one of the charities she held dear: PAMI, FOR in McKees Rocks, or Brother's Brother Foundation. "Gentle Woman, morning star, so strong and bright... teach us wisdom, teach us love." Family and friends welcome Thursday 3-7 P.M., WM. SLATER & SONS, INC., (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington, PA 15211. Funeral Mass Friday 10 a.m. St. Mary of the Mount Church, Mary Queen of Peace Parish. Burial will be private to the family.
