Of Mt. Lebanon and Hilton Head, SC, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Doniella M. (DiTonto) Torisky; beloved father of Charles A., III, (Polly) of Pgh., Janice (Tom) Sonson of Washigton, PA, and Gary D. (Kathy) Torisky of Duncannon, PA. Loving grandfather of Amy Fox, Nicole Sikora, Christian Sonson, Kris Torisky, Amanda Pierce, Kate and Chaz Torisky, Tom and Jim Dubois. Adored great-grandfather to seven. Beloved brother of the late Gene (Althea) Torisky of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Donald late (Pat) of Elgin, IL; Br. Duane Torisky, OFM of Albuquerque, NM; and Karen (Tony) Janflone of Washington, PA. Chuck graduated from St. Justin's HS in 1950, was employed by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and served his country during the Korean conflict. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1955. Chuck was a proud and active US veteran. He was a lifelong employee of the Pittsburgh papers, Sun Tele, Pittsburgh Press, and he retired from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 1992. Chuck and Donna celebrated their 64th anniversary on September 29, 2020. His faithful companion, Pedro, was always by his side. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace parish for 64 years, and worked for many years on the parish festival committee and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was a loyal member of the FROGS of OLG. Chuck was very active all his life, a member of the OLG Men's Softball Team, and he was competitive in tennis, golf, and volleyball well into his later years. He enjoyed the weekly crossword, playing Words with Friends with many on his iPad, and learned to golf and fly a plane on the iPad with the help of his grandchildren. Visitation will be private due to the COVID-19 CDC guidelines. Family and friends are welcome Wednesday, 12 noon at St. Michael the Arch Angel Parish, Our Lady of Grace Church for a Mass of Resurrection, with private interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Chuck enjoyed a long life and never met a stranger. He had compassion and was always willing to help others in need, a gift he passed on to his family. "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
