Charles E. Tarasovic

February 21, 1926 — December 13, 2016

Born on Feb. 21,1926 and died Dec. 13, 2016 at the age of 90 at Kittanning Care Center, Kittanning, PA. Devoted son of the late Charles Tarasovic and Mary
Lucille (Vereb) Tarasovic. Charles was born in Hazelwood (Pgh.) and attended St. Stephen Grade School and Central Catholic High School In Oakland, Pgh.,
PA His emphasis was in the sciences. After graduation, his first job was as a sales clerk at McCann·s Grocery. He then worked as a layout designer
for PA Dept. of Highways. Two years later he worked for various engineering firms in the area. His final employer was U.S. Steel where his fundamental drawings and duties concerned track relocations at various plants, primarily due to the fact that the "Basic oxygen Process", which yielded a finer Steel
than the "old way", needed more room and track changes to accommodate it. He retired from U.S. Steel in 1982 when his job was outsourced to India. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Scott TWp. Charles was an avid train collector and enjoyed displaying them. He worked as a professional photographer including commercial. wedding and portrait photography. Charles enjoyed writing and sharing his short stories. Many of his
stories originated from a simple idea jotted on a napkin and later developed. He also was a prolific letter writer to presidents, Politicians, Editors of the local newspapers and celebrities, sharing his thoughts With all of them with many of them responding back to him. He lived the last two years at Grey"s Colonial Manor III Kittanning and enjoyed his many new friends playing cards, bingo and sharing with them his short stories. Living the last few months at Kittanning Care Center. Prior to that he cared for his parents and was helped by his dear neighbors, Megan and Mike Castello, who helped him to age in place in his residence. Special thanks to all of these people. He is survived by Michael Vereb (Pemberton, NJ). Wm. R. Balash, MD and Lisa Balash (Natrona Heights,
PAl and many other cousins.
