Cecilia Irene (Gur) Sposato, 99, of Titusville, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Titusville Hospital.

She was born on April 12, 1926 in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania to the late Clara Irene (Smith) Gur and the late George Gur and graduated from Bethel Park High School in 1944.

Cecilia was a proud housewife and mother and was the owner of Ceil’s Gift Shop in the Sheraton Hotel in Upper St. Clair, PA, worked as a floral arranger at Giant Eagle in Crafton, PA, and over the last five years, she provided the warm welcome of students and guests at Rocsato Conservatory of Music in Titusville. She dedicated her life to her family and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and extended family. She was always eager to hear updates, see photos, and enjoyed staying connected through social media. She loved spending time in her yard, reading, making silk flower arrangements, traveling the world, riding steam trains, and watching NASCAR. Cecilia was passionate about knitting hats and scarves and donated thousands to local charities.

In her youth, she was a competitive rollerskater, head majorette at Bethel Park High School, a telephone operator in Pittsburgh, PA, and an Executive Assistant at a local Lumber Company.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her brothers George Gur Jr. and Edwin Gur, her two daughters Mary Denise Sposato and Anita (Sposato) Pace, and her granddaughter Alexandra Fraticelli.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Sposato (Cindy) of Coshocton, OH; Celia (Sposato) Fraticelli of Leechburg, PA; Aimé Sposato Rock (Gregory) of Titusville; and her brother Eugene Gur of Virginia Beach, VA. Cecilia is a proud grandmother of Chiara Jucha (Rich) of Hainesville, IL; Jessica Berroth (Jeff) of South Park, PA; Selena Muro (Cory) of Pittsburgh, PA; Tyler Sposato (Kate) of Hanford, CA, Aselya Sposato of Columbus, OH; Conor Rock of Heath, TX, Matthew and Emilia Fraticelli of Leechburg, PA; Benjamin Fraticelli of New Kensington; and great grandchildren Leighton and Lainey Berroth of South Park, PA.

Cecilia was creative, full of joy and love, and was willing to listen and offer support to anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her as “Mom”.

The family will hold a private gathering to celebrate her life and memory at a future date. A private interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
