Cecil James Marty, age 92, passed away peacefully on April 30,2022. He was born to Wilfred Harris Marty and Margaret Queenan Marty in Patterson New Jersey on July 2, 1929. Cecil met and married his lifelong partner Diane Rose Gelinas in 1951 while they were both serving in the US Air Force in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were greatly blessed throughout their 70 years of marriage with 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. The surviving children are: Margaret Marty, Thomas Marty, Barbara Marty, Brian Marty, Eileen Marty Savarese, John Marty, Paul Marty and Anne Marty Allen. Cecil also had 2 brothers, Wilfred and Thomas Marty and a sister Winifred Daley, all now deceased.

Cecil was a graduate of the University of Alabama in 1951, Johns Hopkins University in 1959 and George Washington University in 1964. He retired from active duty in the US Air Force and began his career with Westinghouse in 1954 where he had more than 33 years of experience in corporate and operating unit management. After retiring from Westinghouse in 1988, he filled his life as a part-time professor at Carnegie Mellon University's Graduate School of Industrial Administration. He also served as President and CEO of Visual Understanding Systems Company, and worked with the National Institute of Standards and Technology at the US Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

Cecil was an avid golfer and tennis player. He and Diane traveled and enjoyed many winters in Venice, Florida; however, his greatest joy was spending time with his loving family. There will be no public visitation. All are welcome to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00a.m. FRIDAY, St. John Capistran Church (Resurrection Parish).
