Catherine "SIS" Small

.Age 89, of Mt. Washington, passed peacefully, on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in Danbury, CT. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband, John F. "Jack" Small of Mt. Washington; her parents, Clara (Niehaus) and William Fox; her sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Fox) Schnippert; and brother-in-law, Thomas R. Schnippert. She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeanne (Small) Spain; son-in-law, Brendan Spain; and her devoted sister, Eileen Fox; along with several nieces and nephews. Catherine lived a long, beautiful life with her husband and daughter, Jeanne, in Mt. Washington, and was very active in the parish activities of St. Mary of the Mount. She and her husband, Jack, enjoyed a large circle of friends: the Duquesne University "fraternity crowd", Catherine's card club and other close friends from the neighborhood, and St. Mary of the Mount Parish. Catherine was an avid loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins (for many years she attended Steeler home games in the bitter cold with Jack and Jeanne, and many friends and family members). Family and friends welcome Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at WM. SLATER & SONS, INC., (412-381-3345), Virginia Ave. and Kearsarge St., Mt. Washington.
