Carolyn A. (Malloy) Tomayko of Bethel Park, PA, died peacefully on April 21, 2024. She was 89 years old  and the beloved wife of the late John F. Tomayko who died in November 1986. Surviving are cherished children: John F. (Denise) Tomayko Jr  of Medfield, MA, C. Lynn Byrne of Jackson Heights, NY and Thomas M. (Patricia) Tomayko of Lebanon, NJ.  Carolyn was also a loving stepmother to Patricia (William) Smith and Larry Tomayko. Also survived by 9 spectacular grandchildren: Stella and Henry Tomayko, Patrick, Peter and Christopher Byrne, Nina and Cari Tomayko, Billy Smith and Erin Collings and 2 great grandchildren Zane and Kaya Collings. Carolyn was preceded in her death by her parents, Henry Malloy Sr and Mary (Orbin), her brothers and sisters, Henry Malloy Jr, Delores Tishok, Stanley Malloy and Sandra Buck. Carolyn was a lifelong active member, CCD teacher and Eucharistic Minister of St. Thomas More Church(now Resurrection Parish) in Bethel Park, PA. Carolyn had very successful career at the Upjohn Company in which she received many commendations and praise for her ability to accomplish the many tasks necessary to run the Pittsburgh regional office, and being the positive spirit that made long lasting connections and admiration from the employees. Carolyn was an excellent chef and loved to host friends and family to her house, having great meals, a bottle of wine and many laughs with anyone who visited. She loved to travel, and visited many countries in Europe after her retirement, as well as hosting annual family vacations in the Outer Banks, NC, and visiting her grandchildren frequently. She was proud of the fact that she lived independently in her home in which she raised her children in Bethel Park up to her final days. Carolyns strength, humor and loving commitment will be in our memories and spirits forever. NO VISITATION. All will be invited to a memorial mass to be held at St Thomas More (Resurrection Parish) 126 Fort Couch Rd Pittsburgh, PA 15241 on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 am, followed immediately by a burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in McMurray, PA.  A reception will follow for friends and family at Resurrection Parish. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to Senior Outreach Ministry at Resurrection Parish,” and sent to the parish at the address above.
