Caroline Kathleen Reich, 57, of Las Vegas, lost her courageous battle against breast cancer at her home on September 8, 2023, one day shy of her 58th birthday.
Caroline was the beloved daughter of Lois and Edward Reich, Jr., of McMurray, PA. She was the cherished sister of Loretta (Michael) Lagoon of Boyds, MD, Laura (Michael) Devine of McMurray, Edward (Renee) Reich III of Murrysville, PA, and Brennan Reich of McMurray, PA. She also leaves behind eight treasured nieces and nephews and an impressive 27 first cousins.
Caroline graduated from Peters Twp High School in 1983. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Caroline believed in furthering her education, and she did so by earning a Master of Science degree in Communications Technology and a Master of Business Administration, both with honors, from Strayer University. Additionally, Caroline was a Microsoft Certified Professional. She qualified and maintained a top-secret clearance and was always studying to keep on track of cyber security trends.
Caroline lived a full and adventurous life, as she traveled the world with the military and her family. She started her military career in the 112th Tactical Fighter Group. She spent many years on Active Duty with the 171st Air Refueling Wing and finished out her military career with the 113th Wing at Andrew’s Air Force Base. Caroline retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service. She served as a war time contractor for the state department for three years in Iraq and one year in Afghanistan. She then went on to work in cyber security for Northrup Grumman in Virginia, California, and Las Vegas, where she was one of the few women in her field. She was very brave, patriotic, and dedicated to her country.
Caroline loved and adored her beloved cats and her beautiful home in Las Vegas, where she still continued to be a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penguins hockey team. She loved her Black & Gold!
Caroline was fiercely independent and always lived on her own terms. Her family and friends will forever miss her beautiful smile, her crazy sense of humor, and her contagious laugh.
Caroline’s last breath on Earth was her first breath in Heaven.
