Carol N. Sovchen

Of Mt. Lebanon, on Monday, January 28, 2019. Beloved wife of Richard; dear mother of Alexia (Lawrence) Dabat, Anthony (Kali) Sovchen and Richard (Danielle) Sovchen Jr.; loving grandmother of Lucy Dabat, Reagan and Taylor Sovchen; sister of Nancy (Maurice) Nernberg and Michael B. (Nancy) Nicolella; also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Carmen and Mary Nicolella. Carol was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, PA, Carnegie Tech., and received her Master's at the University of Pittsburgh. She retired from Mayview State Hospital, where she was an art therapist and teacher. She was an artist and owned her own painting and design studio called After Images. She was very proud mentoring many young artists to obtain entry into art universities. Friends welcomed Thursday, 6-8 and Friday, 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m., at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the University of Pittsburgh Scleroderma Center. A celebration of her life, will be held at a later date.
