Carol Ann (Brennan) Parris, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 9, 2023.

Born on December 8, 1950, the daughter of Luke Joseph and Kathryn (Adams) Brennan in Pittsburgh, she grew up in Brookline and later moved to South Park Township, where she raised her family.  Carol retired to Scott Township.  She was a loving wife to her late husband Gregory James Parris, and a devoted mother to her children Bridget Parris (Brian) Parker, Jacquelyn Parris (Scott) Roberts, Joseph Brennan (Christie) Parris and Kathryn Laura (Scott) Finnern.  

She was an adoring Nana to her grandchildren: Madeline, Julia and Daniel Parker, Eleanor and Alexandra Becze, Ethan and Ella Roberts, Allison, John, and Kelli Parris, and Carolyn, Henry and Jacob Finnern.  

She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia (Gerald) Higgins - (Richard) Wood, Margaret (Dale) Rettinger, Mary (Fred) Ferris, and Sheila (Steve) Baez. 

Carol will be missed by life-long friends, the IBT’s. Maureen “Micki” Mischuck, Lynn “Lynnie” Coppola, Kathleen “Smity” Papariello, Peggy Ballo, Marie Hagar, Janet Caputo, Roseanne “Rosebud” Stanizzo, Karen Tague and Diane Cancilla.

Carol lived a very full life and was a vibrant woman. She had a passion for family ancestry and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was a devoted Catholic. She graduated from grade school at Resurrection in Brookline and Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic high school. Carol was the widow of a decorated Vietnam (Army) veteran, and mother of two Navy veterans. She was a proud American.

In her later years Carol was a graduate of Carlow University. Thanks to her encouragement and example; all four of her children are college graduates.  

Carol was a modern woman while raising her family she was employed by banks, lawyers, dioceses, developers, architects, universities and hospitals.  She also volunteered as committee women for the Democratic party and a recreation board member for South Park Township.

Rest in peace, Mum. You will forever be in our hearts and memories. Hard fought and well done. You were extraordinary.  

Family and Friends welcome Wednesday 6pm - 8pm and Thursday 4pm - 8 pm in WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd. Scott Twp., 15220. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 15 at 10am at St. Simon and Jude Church, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, 1607 Greentree Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15220. Burial will be private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
