Carol (Barthen) McNany

In her 88th year, of South Fayette, formerly of Scott Twp., passed away peacefully, on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Joseph L. McNany. Loving mother of Nancy (John) McManus. Dear grandmother of Caitlin (Bill) Brunner and Emily (Juan) Lozano. Sister of John Paul (Kathy) Barthen, Elaine Stana, James (Jane) Barthen and the late Virginia Torchia and David Barthen. Sister-in-law of Louis Torchia, Rosemarie Barthen and Richard McNany. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Carol received her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh and worked as an Oncology Social Worker for many years at Allegheny General Hospital and later at the Hillman Cancer Center. She was a volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and additionally facilitated many support groups for cancer patients, cancer survivors and their families. Carol had a quick wit, a great sense of style, elegance, and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family. The family would like to thank Gallagher Hospice and the Staff of 5G at St. Clair Health for their compassionate and dignified care of Carol.
