Brian J. Yeckley, age 73 of Ormond Beach, FL born and raised in Mt. Lebanon, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was the son of the late Quentin and Kathleen (Moran) Yeckley and brother of the late Richard Yeckley. Survived by a sister, Maureen (Randy) Torcasi; brothers Robert (Janet) Yeckley and Kevin Yeckley. Brian cherished his role as “uncle” to Julie, Kristin, David (Lindsay) and Dan (Alex) Torcasi; Christina and Michael (Kylie) Yeckley; Kathleen (Deniz) Yalcin and Colleen Yeckley. He was a “great” uncle to Alaina, Jack, Tyler, Wesley & Quentin Torcasi and Amelia Yalcin.
Brian was a medical miracle, enduring 3 transplants, a stroke, prostate cancer and ultimately blindness. He fought hard, never giving up – his will and strength to overcome these obstacles became his signature. Even though Brian lost his sight, he saw the world more clearly than many.
Brian was passionate about family and friends. He was a knowledgeable and avid sports fan, always anxious for fall to arrive so he could cheer on his Steelers and watch college football. In his unique and enthusiastic way, Brian dazzled all who met him as an auctioneer, gemologist or simply as a great guy. He loved life and was taken from us far too soon.
