Age 69, of Scott Township, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James R. Avery. She is also survived by her siblings, Beth Card, Donna Robb (Bill), and Donald Brown (Joyce); her sister-in-law, Lois Hansen (Jack); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. 

Brenda’s favorite activities included golfing, water aerobics, gardening, and cooking. She also enjoyed dining out with friends and family. Brenda was an avid traveler. She loved wintering in Gulf Shore, Alabama, and traveled all over Europe, but was particularly fond of her times in Italy. Brenda was a profound woman of faith and a longtime member of Sts. Simon and Jude Church. 

All are welcome to her Funeral Mass, Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 11:00am, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Sts. Simon and Jude Church, 1607 Greentree Road. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Rd, Bridgeville, PA 15017.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 1:00p at the Teutonia Männerchor, 857 Phineas Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Lustgarten Foundation, which is the largest private funder of pancreatic cancer research in the world, via their website at https://lustgarten.org.
