Bernard F. Downs

Age 80, of Upper St. Clair, on Friday, April 2, 2021. Beloved husband of Nancy (Tribby) Downs. Dear father of Joseph Michael Downs. Loving grandfather of Jessica, Matthew, and Libby Downs. Brother of John (Joyce) Downs and the late Ann (Philip) Krause, Thomas, Terry, and Daniel Downs. Bernard was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had a long and successful career in the metals business, most notably, as the founder of Merit Metals, a manufacturer and processor of alloy products, used in the foundry industry. He was also one of the first manufacturers of interlocking paving stones in Western PA.
