Bernadine Evelyn Carrington

Died on May 20, 2018. she was 39 (plus 50) years young. Bernie was born July 17, 1928, to William and Carrie Rucinski in Wilmington, Delaware where she met and married her lifelong sweetheart, Ralph. Bernie had an almost 69-year career as a homemaker in the truest sense of the word. Wherever Ralph's work took them, including their last 44 years in Pittsburgh, she created a home filled with love, flowers and her ever-present smile. Her smiling generosity will always be remembered, from her many gifts to friends and family to the tasty treats she always had on hand for caregivers. Bernie is survived by her husband, Ralph Jesse Carrington; their children, Ralph Gregory (Catherine Utzig) and Cynthia Carrington Miller; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held for Bernie at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 310 Kane Blvd. Pittsburgh, 15243 at 2 p.m. Friday. A Celebraton of Life will be held at Providence Point at a later date. While Bernie loved flowers, the family instead suggests donations to the Providence Point Emplyee Appreciation Fund, 500 Providence Point Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15243, planting a flower for her in your garden or adding hugs in her name to your family's garden of love.
