Age 87, of Mt. Lebanon, on January 6, 2015, at The Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, August V. Miller, whom she married on May 3, 1947, at St. Mary's Church in McKees Rocks. Born Frances Bernadette Stroup on May 21, 1927, in Blandburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Pearl Renninger Stroup. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas A., Jr., Joseph C. and Edwin C. Stroup. Affectionately known as Bernie, the center of her life was her family. She was a vice president of August V. Miller, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based insurance agency, where she worked with her husband for more than 25 years. Mrs. Miller was a devout member of St. Bernard Church, Mt. Lebanon, for more than 65 years and was a member of the St. Bernard Christian Mother's Association and Woman's Guild, as well as serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was also a member of the Austrian American Cultural Society and Mount Lebanon Village. In addition to her husband, Bernie is survived by her children, Carol Ann Crowley (Dale E.), Collier Twp., PA, Dr. James A. Miller (Tamie), Temperance, MI, Lynette M. Tucker (F. Michael), Albany, NY, and Judith M. Baehrle (William A.), Collegeville, PA; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian E. Mitarotonda (Jennifer), Ashburn, VA, Gregory M. Mitarotonda (Melissa), Englewood, CO, Douglas C. Mitarotonda (Rachel Reichenbach), Burlingame, CA, Katie E. Deacon (Lorne), Carlisle, PA, Megan T. Petersen (Kevin), Jersey City, NJ, Gabriel J. Miller, Greenville, SC, Eileen F. Spiro (Matthew) New York, NY, Kathleen B. Tucker, Arlington, VA, Alyson E. Baehrle, and Katelyn A. Baehrle, Collegeville, PA; her step-grandchildren, Richard P. (Deborah) Crowley, Manhattan, Kansas, Jennifer R. (Michael) Dzera, Meadville, PA, Peyton, Madyson and Jack Starner, Temperance, MI; and her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Aiden Mitarotonda, Cora, June and Samuel Mitarotonda, and Paxton and Oliver Deacon; also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony P. and Eileen P. Miller of Bethel Park, PA; and her sister-in-law, Judith M. Stroup of Stony Point, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
