Peacefully, with her family by her side, Anna Rosa (Rosetta) Lanzetta passed away at the age of 96 on Wednesday, September 3 rd , 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Rosalia (Alvaro) Staltari and her beloved husband Francesco Lanzetta. She is survived by her loving and cherished children Adriana (Dave) Dozzi, Nicodemo (Karen) Lanzetta, and Salvatore Lanzetta. Adoring nonna of Giancarlo and Marco Dozzi, Cara (Sebastian), Michelle, and Samantha Lanzetta and two great grandchildren, Luca and Chiara Rose. She is also survived by her cousin Angelina Furfaro and Joanna Lachina, sisters at heart for a lifetime.
Anna Rosa was born in a small village in southern Italy and emigrated in 1956 with her husband and three children to the Brookline area of Pittsburgh. Still lovingly remembered for her kindness and warmth, she was famous for her Italian cookies that graced many tables, as well as for the crocheted blankets she made for numerous babies in her circle of friends and family. Her embroidery skills rendered a tablecloth, baby clothes, monogrammed shirts – everything linen – into a true work of art.
Her gentle spirit, caring ways, and elegance defined her life; her family truly was her world. “To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” She will live eternally in our hearts.
