Ann (Eisel) Woratchek

September 5, 1925 — June 30, 2023

Mt. Washington

Ann Woratchek, 97, of Mt. Washington passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, just two months shy of her 98th birthday. For almost 50 years, Ann was the wife of the late William H. ”Bill” Woratchek, a former driver for Pittsburgh Railways and Port Authority of Pittsburgh. She was the mother of Bill (Debbie Ellis) Woratchek of Hickory, North Carolina; Sharon “Sherry” Michael of Mt. Washington; Patricia “Patti” Flora of Beechview; and the late Russell ”Chet” Woratchek and late Debra Polk (the late Ron) Cloherty. She was the proud Annie of four grandsons: Jonathan Michael of Green Tree; Chad (Sarah) Flora of Mt. Washington; James Cloherty of Mt. Washington; and Jesse Cloherty of Carrick. Annie took special delight in her great granddaughter Skylar Marien Flora of South Side and Mt. Washington. Her late parents were Nicholas and Anna Eisel. She was preceded in death by brothers Robert, Thomas, Earl, Raymond, Russell, and Buddy. She is survived by her sister Judy Kuzora and special niece Tammy Kuzora. Ann particularly enjoyed the yearly Fall trips to Florida with Bill and members of the 85 Sports Club as well as weekly trips after his retirement to Wheeling Downs. She was an active homemaker until well into her 90’s, especially skilled at cooking and baking. Her special pleasures were shopping and getting her hair done. During her final two years, her family is thankful for the care and kindness of staff and residents at Fair Oaks and especially Juniper Village of South Hills. The compassionate assistance of Lorri and Lauri from Anova Hospice eased her final days and nights. There will be no viewing and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery will be private. Arrangements entrusted to WM. SLATER AND SONS, INC., 301 Virginia Avenue, Mt. Washington (412-381-3345).
