It is with great sadness that the family of Angela Schipani Joseph announce her passing on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 90. Angela was born on “The Bluff” to a large Italian family and settled in Brookline to raise her children with her beloved late husband Joseph (“Dodo”) Joseph.
Angela leaves behind a large family of her own including her children, Richard (Patti), Georgeine, Bobby (Sandra), MaryAnn, Michael and Michelle as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved and admired her with great affection. Angela will joyfully reunite with her beloved grandson, the late Michael Antonio and granddaughter, the late Amber Johnston both whom she loved and missed dearly.
She was the daughter of the late Anthony (“Tony”) and Ralphalena Schipani (DiGorno), sister of Marlene Sciarretti, Virginia Lazzaro, and the late Ralphie Schipani. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who also loved and admired her and will miss her greatly.
In life, Angela had many friends and earned the respect of many people from “The Bluff” and Brookline while living across the iconic Moore Park. She was a devout Catholic, dedicated homemaker, loyal friend, and most noticeably- a selfless mother. Her family knew how loved they were each day.
One of her most enjoyed pastimes was preparing delicious Italian and Lebanese dishes for family and friends to enjoy. Angela did not know a stranger, and preparing these delicious meals was not only enjoyable for her to cook, but she knew deeply that food is what brings family and friends together- and being together was most important to her. She truly valued family and togetherness. Her legacy that she has left behind is that above all else, our faith and our family should be what we prioritize most and ensure that people know they are loved and respected. This became evident in her final days, when those who surrounded her not only included children and grandchildren, but even those who lovingly cared for her at Marian Manor and Kane Regional who adoringly referred to her as Gram.
