Andrew W Playso, 73, of Georgetown, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022. He was born on May, 4, 1948 in Pittsburgh (Hays), PA. Husband of 54 years to Rose Ann (Koperski) Playso, father of Desiree Playso-Doyle (Blake) and Andrea Playso. Grandfather of William Slancauskas. Predeceased by father Andrew (Corrine) Playso, mother Irene (Lindt) Playso and sister Denise Playso. Member of the Class of 1966, South High School, Pittsburgh, PA. Continued being an active member of the reunion committee through 2019.
Joined the Air Force in 1967. Enjoyed riding motorcycles throughout the Pittsburgh area and attended events in many other states. Served as an Officer of the Mon Valley HOG Club for 10 years and is a HOG Life Member.
Member of Steel City Boogie Club. Taught wedding and party dancing and in his later years traveled to Myrtle Beach and West Virginia for dance events.
Obtained a small craft airplane pilot's license at the age of 40. Flew from the Allegheny County Airport to many of the surrounding community airports.
Member of the American Legion and American Legion Riders, Hookstown Post 952.
Project Engineer for Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 35 years. Enjoyed scuba diving, swimming, hunting, and water skiing. He had many years of camping in the Laurel Highlands with his family. He lived the last few years in the country with his wife, five cats and visits from the neighborhood puppies. His happiest moments were those spent with his grandson. At the end, his family was at his bedside when he passed with deer running through the yard, two cardinals watching in the window, and a beautiful sunset in the background.
