Amedeo I. Scalone

Age 86, of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Green Tree on Friday, February 8, 2013. Beloved father of Susan (James) Balint, Mary Scalone, Amy (Jim) Nupp, Marcy (Rick) Landucci, John (Lisa) Scalone, and the late Robert and Beverly Scalone; loving brother of Ralph Veltre, Susan Denk, Madeline Brown and Sam Veltre; also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Amedeo was a decorated WWII veteran serving in the US Navy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Friends welcome Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at FREYVOGEL- SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 112 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park (opposite Macy's South Hills Village). Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Church, Thursday 10 a.m. Interment with military honors in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
