Alice J. Fitzgerald

Age 101, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Born on October 30, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine Latwas of Lawrenceville, PA. Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence J. Fitzgerald and her cherished grandson, Mitchell Fitzgerald. She is survived by her 8 children, John Fitzgerald (Bonnie), Kathleen Fitzgerald (Joseph Sardello), Margaret Fitzgerald-Stacy (Marlis), Lawrence Fitzgerald (Rose), Judith Malarkey (George), Timothy Fitzgerald (Jodi), Maureen Franks (Kevin Canovali), and Richard Fitzgerald (Deborah); her 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

During World War II, Alice worked in a munitions factory. She also worked for Bell Telephone Company as an operator before her marriage. After raising her children, she worked for Macy’s Department store as a customer service representative until she retired at the age of 81. Alice enjoyed going to movies and dinner with her friends. She particularly enjoyed playing golf and later in life, watching golf on TV. Alice always rooted for the Pittsburgh home sports teams. 

All are welcome on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 412-563-2800. Funeral Mass and Burial will be held privately to the family.
