Alfred J. Luconti (“Papap”), 98, of Canonsburg (previously of Bethel Park), died peacefully at his home on Friday, July 22nd. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Brian Fassinger; his son-in-law David Bosak; granddaughters, Kristan Weir (Daniel), Kallie Wright (Zachary), Amanda Jankowski (Robert), and Meagan Truong (Thomas); his sister Mary Nemeth; eight great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephew. He is preceded in death by his cherished wife of 73 years, Columbia Luconti; his daughter, Rose Bosak; his brothers William & Anthony; sisters Margaret DeCort & Connie Colletta; and his parents, John & Rose Luconti, all of whom he was delighted to see again.
Alfred served our country honorably in WWII, receiving a Purple Heart for injuries incurred during his time with the Army in France just after D-Day. He was a quiet man who was often happiest sitting back and observing the family he loved so much. His greatest joy in life came from his marriage to Columbia. They were rarely without each other and despite their constant bickering, remained very much in love their entire lives. Special appreciations to Gateway Hospice for all of their love and support, especially to aide Pam, nurse Nicole, Rev. Sue and social worker Jenn.
