Alex Kaufman

Age 31, of Mt Lebanon, lost his long hard fought battle with addiction. He is survived by his parents John and Rachel Kaufman; sister Marinna Kaufman (Matt) McMunn; grandmother Rose Behcastro Kaufman and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He graduated from Mt Lebanon High School and attended CCAC for two years. He started taking guitar lessons in the sixth grade and became a proficient Jazz guitarist. He worked as a guitar instructor at music stores in Pittsburgh and most recently in San Diego. He also taught beginner guitar for one semester at CCAC. He played in several jazz combos and bands at many local venues in the Pittsburgh area. He was a good friend and inspiration to all he met. He loved camping and hiking and recently had the opportunity to camp on the beach in California with two of his long time best friends. Alex loved the beach and sunsets, was an avid reader of spiritual literature. He may be gone physically but his memory and music will always be with us.
