Age 96, formerly of Upper St. Clair, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.  Beloved husband of the late Jean (Schuster) Weiland.  Dear father of Deborah (Bill) Reising, Jim (Sue) Weiland, Gary Weiland, Sue (Kevin) Garber, Thomas (Svitlana) Weiland, Peggy Backus and Richard Weiland.  Grandfather of Sarah (Mike) Miller, Dan (Ashley) Weiland, John (Dana) Garber, Scott (Allison) Weiland, and John and Ben Backus.  Also 11 great grandchildren.  Brother of the late Mary Helen McCall and Doris Jean Diethorne.  Jerry was a Great Depression era youth and part of the Greatest Generation.  He was a high school football captain with St. George High School in Knoxville.  Jerry was a WWII Veteran of the Navy and was aboard the USS Missouri the day Japan signed the Japanese Instrument of Surrender on Sept. 2, 1945, in Tokyo Bay.  He traveled the world while working with Teledyne Firth Serling and enjoyed horseback riding, golf, reading and his family.  The family would like to thank all at Country Meadows and Three Rivers Hospice for keeping his final days comfortable and dignified.  Services are private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Three Rivers Hospice, 300 Oxford Dr., Monroeville, PA 15146, or Pancreatic Cancer Care at UPMC Hillman, 5115 Centre Ave., Pgh., PA 15232.  Arrangements entrusted to WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, Scott Twp., 15220 (412-563-2800).
