Albert M. Punturi
Age 84, of Greentree and formerly Braddock Hills, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Caroleen Beninati Punturi; four children Dina (Jack) of Ashburn, VA, Joseph (Becca) of Harrison City, PA, John (fiancée Terri) of Jasper, IN, and Michele (Michael) of Meadowbrook, PA as well as 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren (and one on the way), and 18 nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie Punturi and brother of Joseph (Ruth), Braddock Hills, PA and Paul (deceased).
Al was a US Army paratrooper and a letter carrier for 30 years. He was also an ingenious fix-it man, avid golfer, ace bowler, smooth dancer, and excellent poker, horseshoe, tennis and softball player and diehard Pittsburgh sports fan. More than anything, he loved vacationing and celebrating with family and friends and attending every athletic event, dance recital, musical show, graduation and birthday party of his cherished children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who thought he hung the moon. He will be greatly missed by all.
Friends received at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township, PA on Friday, June 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral mass Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Margaret's of Scotland Roman Catholic Church, Mansfield Road, Green Tree, PA.
